The intro video package is heavily dedicated to Hurricane Sandy, and the money WWE has raised for the cause.
"Coming Home" sounds over MetLife Stadium, and Michael Cole welcomes us to WrestleMania XXIX! Another intro video, actually centered around tonight's matches airs.
Randy Orton, Sheamus & Big Show vs. The Shield
Roman Reigns and Sheamus start the match brawling aroung the ring, trading right hands and body blows in the corner - neither will let up. Sheamus takes down the Shield big man with a running axhandle. In comes Randy Orton, and the Viper goes to work picking apart the limbs of Reigns. Seth Rollins gets a tag for the Shield, but Orton backs him into the corner and goes to work with a ten-count of right hands, followed by a slingshot suplex.
Sheamus is back in, but Rollins takes him down with a dropkick to the knee, and now the numbers game begins on the Celtic Warrior. Sheamus fights back and gets the tag to Big Show, who comes into the match for the first time, against Dean Ambrose. Show throws Dean around the ring and pummels him into the corner. Show runs the ropes, but Ambrose dropkicks his knee and takes his legs out from under the Giant.
The heels isolate Big Show on the mat and come in and out with quick tags, not letting him get back to his feet. In comes Reigns, who is actually able to manhandle Big Show, locking in a side headlock. The Giant counters with a huge suplex, but Rollins gets a tag and takes Orton off the apron. Show gets a hot tag to Sheamus and plants Seth Rollins with a knee to the head, before taking him out to the apron and clubbing him with ten consecutive blows to the chest. Ambrose breaks it up, but then gets ten shots of his own! Rolling Senton by Sheamus, and then he picks up Ambrose and does another Rolling Senton right on top of the other Shield victim.
Sheamus and Reigns brawl to the outside, and Randy Orton comes out of nowhere to break it up an attack by the Shield. They get Sheamus up for the triple powerbomb, but Big Show comes out of nowhere with a huge spear on all four of them! Orton gets the tag, and snap suplexes all three members of Shield. Orton coils for the RKO on Ambrose, but Reigns comes out of nowhere with a spear of his own. Ambrose with the cover - 1....2....3.
Results: The Shield wins via pinfall
After the match, Big Show gets frustrated with the loss and hits both Sheamus and Randy Orton with the K.O. Punch!
Mark Henry vs. Ryback
"I don't think we're going to see armdrags and hip tosses." - JBL
They start out the match by running full speed into each other - nothing happens. Ryback tries it again, and Henry knocks him down with a big shoulder tackle. They get back up, and Ryback tries to suplex the big man with no result; Henry counters and suplexes Ryback onto the ring ropes. Side headlock is applied, into the bear hug which Henry holds until clotheslining his opponent from behind. Running clothesline sends Ryback out of the ring, to the floor.
Henry rolls Ryback into the ring and hits him with a big bodyslam. He tries for another bear hug, but Ryback fights back with right hands and a few shoulder thrusts in the corner. Ryback gets the 400-pound moster up for the Shellshock, but Henry drops his whole weight down on top of him instead. 1...2...3.

After the match, Henry comes back to the ring for a World's Strongest Slam, but Ryback counters with a huge spinebuster. SHELLSHOCK! Stephanie McMahon and Chris Christie bring out members of the 2014 Special Olympics games. Governor Christie got some boo's from the New Jersey crowd.
| WWE Tag Team Championship Dolph Ziggler & Big E Langston vs. Team Hell No (c) Dolph Ziggler makes out with AJ on the apron, and Bryan kicks him in the head! 1...2...No, Ziggler kicks out! Kane and Big E get tags, and the two giants collide with rights and lefts. Big E actually lifts Kane, and drops with several back breakers. Kane follows up with a big haymacker, but Langston doesn't go down and clotheslines the Big Red Monster hard. Ziggler makes a tag and dropkicks Kane, followed by a close two-count. Ziggler knocks Bryan off the apron, but turns around into a right hand from Kane. Sidewalk slam connects, followed by another two-count. He heads up to the top rope, but Ziggler hits the ropes and crotches the big man. Big E takes out Bryan on the floor, and the distraction allows Ziggler to hit the Zig-Zag on Kane! AJ Lee gets up on the apron to cause the distraction, and Ziggler misses wildly with the briefcase. Chokeslam from Kane! Daniel Bryan with the tag, and he heads up to the top rope and comes down with a flying headbut! 1...2...3!

Fandango makes his entrance with about a dozen dancers around him. Chris Jericho is up next, and has some pretty great pyro exploding over the arenaFandango vs. Chris Jericho Y2J takes it to Fandango right from the opening bell with several knife-edge chops, until he bails from the ring to catch his breath. Jericho rolls to the outside and throws his opponent back in the ring, mounting him and firing back with rights and lefts. Codebreaker connects out of nowhere, but Fandango rolls out of the ring to safety. Jericho hits him with a baseball slide, and then springs to the top rope and leaps to the floor with a diving crossbody. The pull themselves up to the apron, and Jericho goes springboard for his signature dropkick, but Fandango catches him with a kick to the side of the head, sending him crashing back to the mat. Fandango takes his first advantage, stomping away at Y2J and applies a side headlock. Jericho struggles out and runs the ropes, taking down his opponent with a Thesz press and half a dozen right hands. They fight up to the top rope, and Jericho counters by sending them both down to the mat with a crossbody. Jericho tries to take advantage of his window of opportunity, but Fandango threw him into the steel ring post. He heads up to the top rope and tries for the top rope leg drop, and it finds its mark. Cover: 1...2...Jericho kicks out before three. Jericho with a roll-up out of nowhere, but only gets a two-count. Fandango tries for a dropkick, but Y2J transitions it into the Walls! The opponent shoves off Jericho, but he responds with a big clothesline. They struggle once again to the top rope, and Fandanga tries for a leg drop; nobody home. Jericho hits the Lionsault, and goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Fandango rolls him up and grabs the tights for a three-count.

Zeb Coulter and Jack Swagger make their entrance during the video package for the next match. Coulter cuts a promo on America falling from grace and prosperity. He calls the country a " cesspool of criminals and illegals". He makes fun of the Spanish, the Greeks, the Italians - other people from NJ/NY. He tells them they can boo them all he wants, but they're all too gutless to do anything about it. World Heavyweight Championship Jack Swagger vs. Alberto del Rio (c) Coulter distracts the champion long enough for Swagger to attack him from behind and throw him into a turnbuckle. He continues to keep working over del Rio by throwing his leg againt the ring post. Swagger continues to stalk the champion, but ADR comes back and clotheslines Swagger, followed by a tilt-the-whirl backbreaker. Del Rio goes for the Cross Arm Breaker, but Swagger turns it into a huge running powerslam. Swagger keeps pressure on the knee, setting up an ankle lock with a chop block. Gut-Wrench Powerbomb connects, but del Rio kicks out before three. The ankle lock is locked in, and the champion can't get to the ropes. Somehow, del Rio counters the move into the Cross Arm Breaker. Another counter and Swagger rolls through into the Patriot Lock! ADR makes it to the ropes, and Swagger uses the full five-count before letting up the hold. The challenger continues his offense with rights and lefts, but del Rio gets up and counters a gut-wrench powerbomb with a kick to the side of the head. Coulter puts Swagger's leg on the ropes and the referee yells at him for it. The action spills to the outside as Zeb Coulter goes after Ricardo; del Rio makes the save, but gets taken out from behind by Swagger. They roll back into the ring and ADR slaps on the Cross Arm Breaker! Swagger taps!

Living Color performs "Cult of Personality" to introduce CM Punk, who comes out with Paul Heyman, who has the urn. Undertaker comes out with people laying on the crowd, having their hands come through the smoke to emulate the dead rising up around him. It was really cool looking. The bridge is on fire with Undertaker's pyro, which is also excellent. Undertaker's entrance time (gong to music fade) - 4:29 CM Punk vs. The Undertaker Punk slaps the Undertaker and begs him to attack - he does, and fires away with rights hands. Punk stops the attack with a kick the mid-section, and the two fight to the outside. The Deadman removes the cover from the announce table, and throws CM Punk shoulder first into the barricade. The official yells at Undertaker, warning him that he will DQ him if he gives him a reason. He sets Punk up on the acron and drops the leg across the throat. As the head back into the ring, 'Taker works over the shoulder of CM Punk and heads up to the top rope for Old School. Punk uses an armdrag and sends the Deadman crashing to the floor. Punk takes the arm of the Phenom and, in a show of disrespect, heads up to the top rope and hits an Old School of his own. Underatker fights back when Punk tries to trade blows with him, but misses a running knee in the corner and goes crashing into the turnbuckle. Punk goes back on the offensive, leaping over the top turnbuckle with a flying crossbody to the floor. He rolls 'Taker back into the ring, and hits him with a swinging neckbreaker, followed by a side chinlock. The Deadman battles back with knees to the midsection to break the hold, and a vertical suplex to take Punk off his feet. The momentum doesn't last long, and Punk gets ahold of the shoulder and goes for Old School again - Taker hits the ropes and crotches Punk, before hitting him with a huge right hand to knock him to the floor. Undertaker looks to fly over the top rope, but Heyman gets in the way! 'Taker locks in the chokeslam on Heyman, but Punk hits the ring and takes out his opponent from behind. High running knee connects in the corner, followed by a clothesline. Punk heads to the top rope and comes down with the diving elbow! 1...2...Undertaker kicks out. He gets a bit too cocky, and 'Taker hits him with a huge chokeslam! 1...2...Punk kicks out! They slowly get to their feet, and Punk foolishly tries to trade blows - Undertaker quickly takes the better of the exchange and hits Snake Eyes. He goes for the signature lariat, but Punk counters with a spinning wheel kick. They head to the outside and Punk takes apart the Spanish announce table. Undertaker sits up, and tries for the Last Ride through the table! Punk rolls out of the powerbomb, and kicks the Deadman in the side of the head. He rolls him up on top of the announce table, and heads to the top turnbuckle. Diving elbow drop to the Undertaker, but the table doesn't break. The referee gets to a count of 8, and Punk rolls back into the ring. At nine-and-a-half, Undertaker somehow rolls into the ring to break the count. Punk focusses on the knee of Underatker, but he counters into the Hell's Gate submission! Somehow Punk rolls over the Deadman and locks in the Anaconda Vice! Shoulders are down and the ref counts; 1...2...Undertaker sits up! Chokeslam attempt, but Punk floats over - GTS connects! Undertaker bounces off the ropes and catches Punk with the Tombstone Piledriver. 1....2.... Punk kicks out! Slowly, both competitors get to their feet. They begin trading right hands, and Taker once again getes the better of him. Punk with a knee to the head, but 'Taker no-sells it. Referee gets taken out, and Heyman gets on the apron with the urn. Punk goes for the knee in the corner, but Undertaker counters into the Last Ride attempt; Punk hits him in the head with the urn, and down goes the Deadman! 1....2...NO! CM Punk is out of his mind, and has no idea what he needs to do. He runs his thumb across his throat and goes for the GTS, but Undertaker counters into the Tombstone Piledriver. 1...2...3.

After the match, Undertaker puts the urn into the middle of the ring and kneels to it as the lights go out and pyro lights up MetLife Stadium. WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels makes his entrance first. Brock Lesnar is up next, with Paul Heyman. Triple H is the last man out, and he comes through the King of Kings entrance, but gets covered in CO2 from a fire extinguisher - presumably. No DQ - No Holds Barred - No Countouts Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H The two fight to the outside as soon as the match begins, and start throwing each other off the barricades. Lesnar already has marks on his back from the attack by Triple H. Lesnar grabs a steel chair and throws Triple H back into the ring, stalking him. He swings with the chair, but The Game counters with a high knee strike. Heyman grabs the chair and takes it out of the ring before Triple H can use it. Again the go to the outside and Triple H throws Brock into the steel ring steps. Hunter tries for a vertical suplex ont he floor, but Lesnar counters with a huge belly-to-belly toss. he picks up Triple H and bounces him head-first off the announce table. Lesnar picks up The Game and hits him with a suplex right through the announce table. Another belly-to-belly throw plants Triple H on his head, right onto the wreckage of the announce table. Shawn Michaels tries to check on his friend, but Lesnar scares him off. The former UFC Champion drags the lifeless body of Triple H back into the ring, and continues picking him apart with stomps and knee drops. Triple H gets his feet up into the face of Brock Lesnar, but the beast counters with a third belly-to-belly suplex. A fourth folds up Triple H on his neck, but Lesnar can't get a three-count. Trips fights back with big right hands, but an Irish whip sends him to the outside. Brock heads to the outside, and Triple H finds enough energy to send him crashing into the barricade. He grabs a steel chair and smacks his opponent right in the back. Lesnar is rolled back into the ring, and Triple H follows, only to get hit with a German suplex bridge pin. Shawn gets on the apron, but an elbow takes him out. Lesnar turns around into a huge spinebuster. He goes for the Pedigree, but Lesnar lifts him up for the F5! HBK hits the ring and tries for Sweet CHin Music, but Lesnar drops The Game and gets Shawn with the F5. Lesnar turns around into the Pedigree! 1...2...No. Triple H gets his sledgehammer, but Brock ducks under it and drops the Game with the F5. 1....2....HHH kicks out. Lesnar grabs the steel chair and hits Triple H several times. He lifts up the steel ring steps, and hits his opponent upside the head. Brock then picks up the bigger segment of the steps and throws it off the shoulder of Triple H; two-count. Standing Kimora lock is slapped on, but Triple H slams them into the corner to break it up. Brock goes for the Kimora Lock again, but The Game lifts him off the ground and comes down hard on the mat with a slam. Spear attempt, but Triple H moves and sends him shoulder-first into the ring post. Low blow by The Game! Hunter takes advantage of his window and goes to the outside, slamming Lesnar's arm off the steel over and over again. He grabs a chair and hits Brock's arm, which is pinned against the ring post. Triple H with the Kimora Lock, and he fades down to the mat! Heyman grabs a steel chair, but Shawn Michaels plants him with Sweet Chin Music! Triple H cranks on the arm, but Lesnar refuses to tap out! Brock poweres him up, and slams them both down hard onto the steel ring steps! Hunter holds onto the lock, and again Brock slams them into the ring steps! A third time Triple H puts ont he Kimora lock, and screams out for Lesnar to tap out - Brock lefts them up, but the Game counters into a DDT on the steps. The both slowly get to their feet, and Triple H grabs the sledgehammer, swinging into the mid-section of Brock Lesnar. He brings Brock on top of the ring steps, and hits the Pedigree. 1...2...3!

After the match Shawn Michaels gets in the ring and celebrates with a beaten-down Triple H as they show replays of the match. They bring out the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2013. Donald Trumps gets major heat. John Cena comes out first for the WWE Championship match, followed by The Rock. No major fanfare, just their regular entrances. WWE Championship John Cena vs. The The Rock (c) They lock up, and John Cena takes the first advantage with a shoulder block. They lock up again, and Rock takes it with a shoulder tackle. Cena leapfrogs off an Irish Whip, but gets taken out with an armdrag, and rolls to the outside to collect himself. The lock up again and Cena takes the advantage, sending the Rock into the corner, but he explodes out of it with a huge clothesline. Cena locks in a side headlock, but Rocky gets back to his feet, only to get taken back down to the mat into the headlock. The rest hold is locked in for several moments before Rock fires off a few shoulders to the gut, transitioning into a sleeper hold of his own. "Boring" chant starts up and Cena fights out of the hold, but misses an elbow drop. Rock lands a Samoan Drop - the crowd is still pretty dead. Cena with a Fisherman's Suplex, followed by two shoulder tackles. Rock counters, but gets countered with two more shoulder tackles. Rock counters the spin-out powerbomb and applies the Sharpshooter! Cena gets to the ropes and the champ is forced to break the hold. Cena runs into a DDT, but when Rock goes for the Rock Bottom, Cena counters into the STF! Rock fights his way out of the hold, but runs into the spin-out powerbomb. Cena goes for the 5-Knuckle Shuffle, but Rock blocks it and lands a spinebuster. He goes for the People's Elbow, but Cena blocks it and locks in the STF. Rock powers out of the submission and hits the Rock's Bottom - Cena kicks out. Rock goes for it again, Cena counters and hits the Attitude Adjustment, landing the Great One on his head. 1...2...Rock kicks out. John Cena heads to the top rope and tries for the leg drop, but Rock moves out of the way and hits the People's Elbow - Cena kicks out. They slowly make their way to their feet and trade blows, until Cena lifts up Rock for the AA; he counters and lands the Rock Bottom again! 1...2...Cena kicks out! Rock looks around the arena and holds his hand out in front of him. He says "you can't see me" to John Cena and tries for the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena pops up and lands the AA! 1...2....Rock kicks out! They both slowly fight back to their feet, trading blows until Cena comes out of nowhere with the Rock Bottom! He thinks about it for a minute, then smiles as he slowly skips around the ring, mocking the People's Elbow. Rock pops up to catch him, but Cena has stopped and is smiling at him from the ropes. He waves his hand in front of him and goes for the AA, but Rock counters with the Rock Bottom! 1...2...NO! The two trade off attempting their finishers until Rock plants the challenger with a huge DDT. Rock stalks his opponent and tries for the Rock Bottom, but Cena counters into the Attitude Adjustment. 1...2...3. Results: WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION, JOHN CENA! After the match, The Rock gets to his feet and John Cena celebrates with the WWE Championship. They stare each other down, and have a discussion that - of course - we can't hear. Cena's music fades out, and the two embrace in the center of the ring. Cena points to The Rock and his music hits as the new WWE Champion leaves the ring and allows the Great One to celebrate. Rock celebrates...his loss...with his family. He makes his way to the entrance ramp and lifts John Cena's arm into the air as his music goes off and pyro fills the arena |
